Christmas Vacation Week 1: Ocala and Jeff's Family

For Christmas holidays we went to Florida to visit with the grandparents. We spent the first week with Jeff's family. Amy came from Italy with Katerina. We went up north to Ocala National Forrest for a few days to check out the Salt Springs and other sites. We had a good time exploring, swimming in the pool at the complex, and having some good meals.

On the way up north we found a hidden gem taco place and ate way too much.

Jeff helps Katerina out by watching her babies.

One day we had a pontoon boat picnic. The boat was old and we couldn't get it started so we had our picnic on land. Eventually we got it going and the boys had fun driving.

The kids loved swimming. We could have spent all day in the pool.

Escaped the pool one afternoon and kayaked down Salt Spring Run. There were a few alligators in the water and the boys were afraid they would try to get in the canoes.

We had Christmas #2 in Ocala. There was a fun gift exchange and everyone ended up with the perfect present from grandma.

Katerina liked her play dough and tools.

Cold water at Silver Glen Springs.

We took the boys on some long walks in woods. The second hike was on the famous Yearling Trail.

On the way back to Grandma's house we took an ancient two-car car ferry.

We celebrated at the crab shack when we got home.

We had a great New Years Eve seafood meal at Glenn's house, and a fun swim in his pool.
