Wedding Preparations

We had a busy day getting ready for the wedding. There was to be a civil service at the court house for family, followed by a 7 course meal at a nice restaurant, and then a huge party for everyone in Feltre (or so it seemed) at the B&B in the evening. Christian's family had tons ofsalami, cheese, bread and prosecco for the big bash. Amy and I spent the day before the wedding baking "American" desserts. We made about 400+ servings of cheese cake, key lime pie, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and lemon squares. These foreign baked goods were a real treat for the Italians. After the wedding, all that was left was one brownie, a handful of lemon squares, and a cheese cake that we forgot in Amy's fridge. Here are photos from the "get ready for the party" day.

Will loved playing in the lemon and lime basket... when he wasn't playing with the broom.

Jack couldn't resist the wild flowers either and made a pre wedding bouquet for Amy.

Baking in the old basement oven.

Grammer, Carla (Christian's mom), and Amy work on the seating arrangement for the lunch.

I walked up and down the stone steps to the oven about 1 million times to bake all of the cookies and brownies. Jeff took Jack off to explore and Will helped me.

The boys doing some planning. That is the garage in the background. Amy and Christian built the stone facade.

Mom needs a rest. She finds the boys sleeping in one of the bedrooms.

Jeff and Christian take some dessert to the restaurant for the 7th course of the meal tomorrow.

Our bachelorette party. Ok, it wasn't much of one!

Christian's friend Oliver was helping out all day (standing in this photo). He made us exhausted bakers a pasta dinner. The little boys were in bed so I got to enjoy the meal without someone on my lap! What fun.
