Gold Rush History (and Prehistory) Scamping Trip: Day 6

Day 6: Carcross, Skagway, and Dyea
The next day we said good bye to our friends in Whitehorse and headed south. We stopped in Carcross where we saw real totem pole carvers at work and wandered around the little historic town. After that it was on to Skagway where we battled tourists to see the sites. We camped in Dyea, a ghost town near Skagway that was deserted when the railroad made it to Skagway. Skagway was our main destination. Jeff worked there his first job in Alaska and Jack wanted to see the start of the Klondike Gold Rush.

Made it to Skagway! Let's go find some gold!

We found some historic artifacts. The boys wanted to know what these things were.
